Ever wonder about the people who make our refreshingly simple software? Code this beautiful doesn’t just write itself. Meet Tim Wilder, one of our Yardi Breeze programmers and a man who values efficiency as much as you do.
Keep reading to see what Tim loves about his job and why you should ask him where to find the best (pizza) pie if you’re ever in the Santa Barbara or Goleta area.
What do you like best about your job?
Researching and solving complicated problems and trying to streamline complicated functions and setup into simple tasks in Breeze. I also particularly like to optimize code – less is more!
Do you speak any other languages? If so, which ones?
C#, Jquery, JavaScript… lol! I barely speak English good.
How do you like to spend your free time?
Goleta is a great place to live since we are close to beaches and mountains – so our hobbies are varied and plentiful! Bouldering year round. Surfing and general beach play in the summer. Mountain biking, backpacking and bike camping in the fall through spring.
What is the most interesting place you’ve ever traveled?
I’m not a big traveler. I usually come back to Goleta after a vacation thinking “why didn’t I just do a stay-cation?” Having said that, Yosemite was very breathtaking.
If you could have a super power, what would it be?
I’m scared of heights, so flying is out. Maybe super speed…
What is your favorite movie of all time and why?
Remember the Titans. I love how sports can bring together people from different backgrounds and make them feel like a family.
What is one thing on your bucket list?
Hiking the Pacific Crest Trail.
What is your favorite food?
Pizza! When I was 12, my parents bought a pizza restaurant, so I’ve grown up making and eating LOTS of pizza. I’m always on the quest to find the best pizza in different cities.
If you could have dinner with anyone, alive or dead, who would it be and why?
Neil deGrasse Tyson to talk about the cosmos, human existence and life’s purpose!
What is your life motto?
Pain is only temporary, Strava is forever!
